A crazed fan has gotten too close to John Mayer by sending threatening messages to him.
So the singer was forced to get a temporary restraining order.
Mayer claims the unidentified man threatened him with physical violence and referenced serial killers.
The man was ordered to stay 100 yards from John and his home.
A hearing to make the temporary restraining order permanent is August 27.
