CBS is setting out to change the way casting goes on its reality shows by setting diversity goals for their programs.
According to the network, they've heard the please for more diversity and will now have casts that are 50% Black, Indigenous and People of Color starting with the 2021-22 season.
CBS has also vowed to give at 25% of its unscripted development budget to projects created or co-created by minorities and committed to 40% BIPOC representation in the writer's room.
Shows like Survivor have taken on the backlash for lack of diversity for some time and CBS is taking steps to make things right.
