4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles the Bay Area Overnight

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake rocked the Bay Area in the middle of the night, as reported by the USGS. The quake occurred at 2:39 AM, centered near Berkeley.

It was felt as far away as the South Bay, with residents across the entire Bay Area taking to social media to share their experiences. People said they were woken up and noticed furniture, doors, and dishes shaking, though no serious damage has been reported yet. East Bay residents may have felt stronger vibrations due to being closer to the epicenter.

We'll update as more information becomes available.
