It happened around 9:39 a.m. just five miles northeast of Alum Rock. This is about nine miles from San Jose City Hall. The good news is that no reported injuries have been reported.
I live in San Mateo so I was to far to feel anything, but I have never actually felt an earthquake before. If you have I definitely would love to hear your story of where you were, and your first initial reaction. Check out more on the story from this morning here.
Shooting a little rain video just now near San Jose airport and a few seconds later I feel a pretty strong jolt. Earthquake. pic.twitter.com/jPR7MLOm8P— @Rob Fladeboe kron4 (@KRON4RFladeboe) April 16, 2018
Earthquake in San Jose. Earthquakes are a fact of life living in the San Francisco Bay Area. San Francisco does not have a requirement for where our first responders must live. Over 70% of the SFPD & SFFD DO NOT LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO. https://t.co/sqeOSaojHS— Michelle Bravo (@forSFMayor) April 16, 2018
