Iyla Talks About Wanting to Make a Girl Power Song with Kehlani & More!

Iyla started singing at a very young age and mostly around her family. It wasn't until she participated in a high school talent show where she decided to pursue a career in singing.

"Whenever I'm on stage, it feels special. The first time I was on stage, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. It was almost like a warm fuzzy feeling."

She describes her sound as "urban/pop with a heavy jazz influence" and gets inspiration from artists like Nina Simone, India Arie, George Michael and Brandy, just to name a few. Iyla also hopes to record a song with Kehlani in the near future!

"I'd like to do a girl power song with Kehlani. I love her!"

Her first EP "War & Raindrops" is out now! Iyla is also working on new visuals for the project as well as a follow up EP! It's definitely an exciting time to be a young artist in the game.
