Doja Cat's musical and aesthetic influences span wide, from hip-house and punk rock, to cows. Thanks to TikTok, her latest hit is "Say So." The song shimmers like a disco ball and for its new music video, Doja Cat leans into that '70s aesthetic.
The video features an impressive combination of disco-era references and, of course, the TikTok dance that went viral. Doja dances around her beige colored loft dressed like modern versions of Suzanne Sommers and Charlie's Angels.
But her collection of records and the tempting handyman who works around it suggests the shiny, sensual, and vibrant life of the underground disco scene. Doja eventually makes it to that underworld, with a live tiger as an accessory, in true Studio 54 fashion.
