San Francisco Mayor London Breed Sends Holiday Public Health Message

The holidays look a lot different this year for everyone. As many people continue to struggle during this pandemic, not being able to spend the holidays with family has been a tough decision for many.

In efforts to promote the 'big picture' and encourage people to be cautious this holiday season, San Francisco Mayor London Breed released the following message:

"I know it's hard, especially with the holidays, but the people of this city have shown again and again that even with all the fatigue and exhaustion we all feel.. that we care about public health. We know that if we can just get through these holidays and avoid any significant surges, we have an opportunity to get this virus under control so that next year we have an opportunity to celebrate with our loved ones, which is so important I know to so many people. So as you make your choices this holiday, please think about that. Think about what you can do to get us through these next few weeks."

She also talks about vaccinations happening throughout the city:

"We are vaccinating people everyday. The distribution of the vaccine is a marathon, it's not a sprint. It's going to take time and patience. As we get through these coming weeks and months, we need to find ways to support those who are struggling the most. We have a long way to go."
