San Francisco To Close Parking Lots & More To Discourage Large Gatherings

The San Francisco Parks & Recreation Department announced that they will be closing several parking lots in the city, as well as turning off light installations and more for New Year's Eve. The city is hoping this will discourage people from gathering to prevent a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The following is set to be closed tonight for New Year's Eve:

  • Golden Gate Park holiday light exhibit
  • Ocean Beach parking lot (5PM)
  • Marina Green parking lot (6PM)
  • Stern Grove parking lot (6PM)
  • Twin Peaks (Burnett Avenue and Portola Drive)

San Francisco has also cancelled their annual fireworks light show that normally takes place on the pier near the San Francisco Ferry Building.

Stay safe and Happy New Year!
