San Francisco MUNI To Restore Some Routes + More Changes To Come In August

Starting in August, San Francisco MUNI will be making some service changes, including restoring bus routes that were previously suspended during the pandemic.

Here are a few changes for riders to be aware of, according to the San Francisco Chronicle:

  • Night service will be extended to midnight on the following routes:
    • 1-California
    • 5-Fulton
    • 8-Bayshore
    • 9-San Bruno
    • 14-Mission
    • 22-Filmore
    • 24-Divisadero
    • 25-Treasure Island
    • 28-19th Avenue
    • 29-Sunset
    • 30-Stockton
    • 38-Geary
    • 43-Masonic
    • 44-O’Shaughnessy
    • 48-Quintara
    • 49-Van Ness
  • The following bus lines will be restored, some with modified routes:
    • 5R-Fulton Rapid
    • 18-46th Avenue
    • 31-Balboa
    • 36-Teresita
    • 35-Eureka
    • 39-Coit
  • Youth can ride for free starting August 15
    • Riders 18 and younger are free to ride, however the city encourages those 16+ to carry ID in case they are asked for verification

Additionally, cable car rides will be free in August and fares will resume in September.
