Oakland Unified School District Staff Will Be Required To Get Vaccine

The Oakland Education Association has put out a statement saying all Oakland Unified School District staff, contractors, and volunteers will be required to get vaccinated or get a weekly COVID-19 test. This will be effective starting September 7, and starting August 16 masks will be required outside while on the school campus.

Fortunately, 92% of OUSD staff who have reported their status are already vaccinated. We agree that vaccinations, along with multiple layers of mitigation, are the best way to protect our students, ourselves, and our community from COVID-19 and we will continue to do whatever it takes to keep our schools safe.
