West Contra Costa and Oakland Unified School Districts will be discussing a vaccine mandate for their students in the next few weeks.

West Contra Costa's proposal would require students 12+ to get the vaccine by October 31st. Students unable to meet the deadline will have to switch to remote learning, according to NBC Bay Area. Oakland plans to propose a similar model.

If approved, they will be the first school district in Northern California to impose a vaccine requirement.
