Artist Creates 12Foot Selena Quintanilla Paper Mache Dia De Muertos Statue

Texas artist Alfonso Hernandez, known as Piñata Man, created a figure of Selena as a Catrina for Mundo Latino's Day Of The Dead display at the State Fair of Texas. The figure has Selena's iconic purple dress worn at the Houston Astrodome in 1995 and stands 12 feet tall!

According to MySA, the artist took about 10 days to make the statue. The statue is said to weigh about 400 pounds and has a steel frame and paper mache on the body, legs, and head.
