So we have a new 'Battle of the Bay' and I am so here for it! Mayors of Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose took Coastal Cleanup Day (which is an annual event nationwide) and decided to turn it into a friendly competition. They wanted to see which city would show up the most to help clean up our streets.
Thousands showed up this morning to help clean up the bay! "San Francisco was in the lead with 3,500 volunteers signing up, followed by 2,900 in Oakland, and 550 in San Jose." Full story here. Photo: GettyImages.
