Much more than a comeback album. With six million copies in the U.S. sold and 10 Grammy nominations, Mariah Carey reached full artistic freedom and gave us 14 straight unforgettable records.
Of course you got the club bangers with smash hits like "It's Like That", but my personal favorite was "Get Your Number". This song deserved more! From the arrogant flex's we don't usually get from the women's prospective when it comes to shooting your shot, the undeniable catchy hook, and she even got Michael Ealy's fine self in the music video, way before he become a famous actor!
She gave us beautiful ballad's with "We Belong Together" which spent fourteen non-consecutive weeks at number one on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and on the Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop song charts, and a whole gospel slap with "Fly Like a Bird"!
Mariah Carey is one of my favorite artists to be on a rapper's hook when it comes to the hip hop & R&B cross over.
Of course she had to bring the fire features on this album! With Twista on the underrated track "One and Only" and Snoop Dogg on "Say Somethin'" produced by one of my all-time favorite producers, the legendary Pharrell Williams.
April 12th marks the 15th anniversary of this iconic album, and Mariah Carey has been celebrating all week!
I'm so here for this and can't wait to see what she'll share with us come tomorrow!
"Stay The Night" was my personal favorite from the album, but I can play this whole album on loop, without skipping a track!
