For the first time ever, Latinos from California are the largest group to get accepted to the University of California for fall 2020, part of the most diverse class.
In totality, the UC system’s nine undergraduate campuses offered seats to 119,054 freshmen, up from 108,178 last year. In addition, the campuses also admitted 28,074 transfer students, including the largest-ever class from the California Community Colleges system. The admission rate for all campuses rose to 69%. How wonderful!
The UC system continues to see minorities apply for higher education degrees and are succeeding in doing so. There are many factors that can and will affect these students with the addition of the pandemic, but this is a victory for minorities all over the U.S.
I’m looking forward to seeing what magic comes next!
