Costco is raising its minimum wage to $16 an hour, Chief executive Craig Jelinek announced on Thursday February 25. While addressing the Senate Budget Committee in Washington D.C. Jelinek shared, "I can tell you in my past experience that wages usually don't put people out of business, how you run your business will put you out of business." The boost puts the company’s starting wages above retail rivals such as Target, Best Buy, and Amazon.
