Meet DeontΔ Allen! In 2021 he built and painted a library and donated it to the Richmond art center. In 2022 he built, painted and installed 5 Little Free libraries at 5 elementary schools in Richmond. This project was an idea he proposed to the city of Richmond arts commission where he received a grant to complete it. The schools he chose to receive libraries are Verde, Peres, Stege, Washington, and his childhood elementary school, King.
The Richmond public library was also kind enough to donate Books to stock each of these libraries as well. The community is grateful and is taking advantage of the resources that are available in the various neighborhoods at this time. Feel free to stop by and check out the libraries or more importantly insert a book inside!
