U.S. official have announced that Brittney Griner has finally been released by Russia in a 1-for-1 prisoner swap for arms dealer Viktor Bout. President Joe Biden is expected to speak at 8:30am ET, the White House has announced, although they did not immediately specify the topic. The WNBA star has been imprisoned since February 17, when she was accused of entering Russia with a vape cannabis oil pen. Her attorneys said that it was prescribed as a treatment for pain.
