Baby Wins $11,000 For Being Named After Colonel Sanders

You may have heard that KFC held a contest where parents who name their child after Colonel Sanders could score $11,000 for their baby’s college tuition.

KFC announced the winner on Twitter last Sunday (October 30th) Harland, which was the Colonel’s first name, Rose is the newest generation to carry on the Colonel’s name.

Critics complained about the lengths they had to go to in order to win the money on social media and those who have already attended college volunteered to change their name for a chance to win.  Harland Rose weighed in at 8 pounds one ounce and was 21 inches long.

Would you name your baby after a fast food chain for $11,000 in tuition money?
