San Jose Teens Arrested for "Catfishing" Men on Tinder to Rob Them

Authorities right here in San Jose, California, have arrested five people for allegedly staging armed robberies, carjackings, and assaults by posing on Tinder as females and asking men to meet up. Two fake Tinder accounts by the names of “Victoria” or “Becky,” were the ones recently used to carry out the plans. The suspects who were recently arrested are three males and two females who range from 15 to 19 years old

The San Jose Police Department said in a statement, “The times and locations were usually in the late evening hours on secluded streets near a park. When the victim arrived at the location, they were beaten, robbed and carjacked at gunpoint by several masked suspects.” Read more here.
