Officer Caught Beating Wife Gets Arrested While On Duty, Uniform Cut Off

It's very rare in America to see officers cut off the police uniform of another officer for committing a crime but that's exactly what we see in this bodycam footage from officers in Albuquerque, New Mexico. According to the criminal complaint, Police Officer Jeffrey Wharton beat his girlfriend so badly, she had multiple gashes on her head and face. Some of the domestic incident was captured on the "RING" doorbell system around the couple's home. Wharton resigned from the APD after this arrest. APD says Wharton had been with the department since November 2010. He was a senior officer with the department. His trial is pending. Photo: Getty Images
