Ayanna Ziegler is a young black film director and writer from Oakland, California and she just released her third project titled "A Word". It highlights the battle of cross cultural communication and tackles the issue of non-black people's use of the n-word. It's a very powerful short film and as someone who had to learn why using the n-word is so offensive to the black community, it hits really close to home. I encourage my latino audience and others who are not black to be careful with the words you use and how it can affect black people. The n-word is not my word, not a word for my fellow latinos, and I believe should only be used by black people. Thank you Ayanna for sharing your talents with the world and using them to bring awareness and bring change amongst us! If you want to listen to what inspired Ayana to write and direct this film and how you can make a change against racism in America listen to our conversation below in my podcast "Crystal's Nightcap".
