Think going to college makes you smart? A group of Harvard students couldn't even out-think a parrot in a recent test.
Researchers pitted an African grey parrot named Griffin against a group of 21 students in a classic 'shell game'-style memory challenge - tracking a colored ball hidden under a plastic cup.
Griffin ended up outperforming the students in 12 out of 14 trials. One researcher said "he just kicked their butts".
But Griffin might be smarter than your average bird - the 22-year-old parrot has been used in cognitive and communicative studies since he was a baby.
