All of Wednesday's NBA Games Postponed in Wake of Jacob Blake Shooting
All of Wednesday's NBA games have been postponed in the wake of Jacob Blake's shooting.
The protest began with the Milwaukee Bucks, who refused to take the court for Game 5 against the Orlando Magic. By late afternoon, the league announced that all players had joined the boycott, forcing them to table the day's entire schedule. "Some things are bigger than basketball," Bucks senior vice president Alex Lasry tweeted. "The stand taken today by the players and the organization shows that we're fed up. Enough is enough. Change needs to happen. I'm incredibly proud of our guys and we stand 100 percent behind our players ready to assist and bring about real change."
Kenosha police officers on Sunday shot Blake, a black man, eight times in the back while his three children watched. The incident has left Blake paralyzed, his father says.
Should police officers be issued only non-lethal weapons? Exactly what purpose does postponing Wednesday's games serve?
