The head of the CDC says the US should have enough COVID-19 vaccine doses to return to "regular life" by late second or third-quarter 2021.
Dr. Robert Redfield told a Senate Appropriations subcommittee Wednesday that it will take "six to nine months" to vaccinate the public.
NBC News reports Dr. Redfield noted that vaccines usually take four to six years, calling the Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed unprecedented. Currently, three drug-makers are conducting late-stage testing on potential vaccines.
However, a recent Yahoo poll suggest that fewer one-third of Americans are interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
