Hollywood Sign Is Getting A Makeover For The 100th Anniversary!

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the iconic Hollywood Sign will be getting a makeover.

According to KTLA 5, Sherwin Williams has partnered up with the signs trust to give the 45-foot high sign a new paintjob which is supposed to be starting today. A crew of 10 will prepare, pressure wash, prime and paint the sign which has not been done since the 90th anniversary back in 2012. The makeover is supposed to take about 8 weeks to do because each letter is 45 feet high and 39 feet across. THATS CRAZY!

“The Sign is the pride of Los Angeles and we are excited for fans all around the world to see this makeover for a very special 100th anniversary,” Jeff Zarrinnam, chair of the Hollywood Sign Trust said. “The opportunity to partner again with Sherwin-Williams on this extensive project will help continue the legacy of the Sign, a symbol of a place where magic is possible and where dreams can come true.”

You can go to the trust's website to watch the makeover on a 24/7 live webcam. Head to KTLA 5 for more.
