Student Loan Forgiveness Applications Are Now Open! Here's How To Apply

The time is finally here! Over the weekend a beta test version of the student loan forgiveness application had went live to a select few but today President Joe Biden announced the launch of the application for all.

"Today marks a big step among others that my administration is taking to make education a ticket to the middle class," Biden said.
"A new student loan application is now open. If you have federal student debt please visit student aid.gov. It's easy, simple and fast. And it's a new day for millions of Americans all across our nation."

During the beta launch this past weekend, over 8 million borrowers had already applied for the student loan forgiveness. Depending on what type of financial aid people received and how much they make, borrowers can get up to $20,000 of debt relief.

"As millions of people fill out the application. We're going to make sure the system continues to work as smoothly as possible so that we can deliver student loan relief for millions of Americans as quickly and as efficiently as possible," Biden said on Monday.

If you applied for the student debt relief during the beta launch, you will not need to reapply since the application has fully launched. To fill out the student loan forgiveness application, head to studentaid.gov to fill out the form. Click here for more.
