Local Woman Is Making Ice Cream For Dogs & You Can Get It At This Park

Enjoying some ice cream on a hot day in SoCal is great but doing so with your dog makes it even that much better. Regular ice cream is not good for dogs to consume so Lori Gabay founded Ice CreamPups so dogs can enjoy ice cream with their owners.

"You don't want to give them something that's not actually healthy for them because you never really know what's in a dairy product that can upset their stomach. So, I'm pretty happy that it's vegan ice cream," said dog owner Stacy Ramirez.

Ice CreamPups makes vegan ice cream for dogs and every Sunday, Gabay gives out some frozen treats at the Sepulveda Basin Dog Park in Van Nuys. The vegan ice cream is made up of only 4 ingredients that are safe for dogs to consume: coconut milk, coconut cream, vegan stabilizer and any add ins she wants to put into the ice cream to add some flavor. Some of those add ins include; peanut butter, organic blueberries, organic strawberries, and organic carrots.

"It's joy, I forget about everything else in life when I'm doing this and it's just fun and a feel-good project for me," Gabay said.

Ice CreamPups has new flavors for the fall season, which are boo berry, vampire peanut blood-er or sweet potato and cinnamon monster mash. Gabay said that she has been doing this for about 2 years and will continue to pass out the frozen dog treats to make not only the dogs happy but their owners as well. Click here for more.
