Among the THOUSANDS of firefighters on the front lines of the blazes in Napa and Sonoma counties, there are 102 female inmates, some of them working 72-hour long shifts!
The women are low-risk inmates who say they want to better their lives and take part in the firefighting efforts. These women are making $1/hour to fight the fires and they say it’s worth it because they are helping out and learning so much.
