New York City giving out free meals amid the coronavirus pandemic

As the coronavirus pandemic and unemployment increases New York City has decided that anyone who is hungry can get free food. They are able to pick up food from any of the locations that are handing out food for students.

"No one will be turned away, I want to really emphasize that there's no charge and no one will be turned away," Mayor de Blasio said at a Thursday afternoon news conference.

There is no registration or ID required.

They are able to grab breakfast, lunch and dinner and eat them as they please. On Monday they will be putting sample menus online for example the city plans to give out Honey Graham Crackers, grape jelly, boxed juice and milk for breakfast. For lunch they will have assorted cold sandwiches with Rold Gold Heartzels.
