Search Persists For Missing Palo Alto Couple In Marin County

The search continues for a missing Palo Alto couple who were last seen in the Inverness area of Marin County.

According to the official Marin County Sheriff Twitter Account, Carol Kiparsky and Ian Irwin were possibly hiking in the Inverness area on Sunday, February 16th. The missing persons report states that the two were last seen "at a rental home on Via de La Vista in Inverness/Seahaven on Friday, February 14th."

The couple was scheduled to check out Saturday morning, reported NBC Bay Area. But when officials checked the rental home, their belongings were left at the property.

The Marin County Search And Rescue sent out 40 search and rescue members including K9 teams, UAV's, boats, and ground searchers on February 18th to no avail.

As detectives and Search and Rescue teams continue looking for the couple, their son, Jonah Irwin is wondering what could have happened.

"Very strange that they wouldn't have been a mile away, two miles away," Irwin said. "It's like somebody picked them up and removed them from the area. That's what I keep thinking."

The Marin County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may know the whereabouts of Kiparsky and Irwin call them at 415-479-2311.
