American Idol finale was last night. One of the top five contestants was Daly City's own Francisco Martin. His family and neighborhood got together to cheer him on for his performance. Prior to the final night, family and friends threw him a parade wishing him good luck. Filipino community members like Warriors hype man Franco Finn and lumpia chef Alex Retodo sent him videos wishing him the best on his performance.
After his performance Katy Perry said,
So smooth when you delivered that it sounded like it was professionally recoded in a studio somewhere. That's how good it was!
Francisco Martin might not have won American Idol but he definitely won our hearts! We can't wait to see what he does in the future and makes the Bay Area proud.
Welp. It’s been a journey. A ride. And an amazing experience overall. Still, I’ve got this smile on my face. I’ve grown so much as a human and as an artist throughout these past few months and I’ll never forget that.
