According to Oakland Zoo officials, the zoo may open in a few weeks or sooner after the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted today (July 14) to support a COVID-19 variance attestation. The Oakland Zoo has been closed since March after regional shelter-in-place orders went into full effect to limit the spread of Coronavirus.
Once the Oakland Zoo reopens, it would be limited to outdoor activities such as rides, playgrounds, and indoor exhibits. The zoo would also have limiting attendance at the start of reopening to 2,500 people per day. More info here!
