Last week Governor Gavin Newsom ordered salons to close in 30 counties after updating his coronavirus ‘watch list.’ The watch list was created by the California Department of Public Health to better monitor the coronavirus pandemic by each county. There’s been public frustrations coming from the personal care service industry, stressing that it isn’t fair restaurants are able to operate while other industries cannot. Newsom decided to ease restrictions today (Monday, July 20) and announced that salons, barbershops, and nail salons can now operate outside.
