All Bay Area counties are now on California's COVID-19 watchlist. San Mateo county was the only county in the Bay Area to not be on the list, but that changed as the number of infected keeps rising. About 5,306 residents have tested positive in all of the county.
San Mateo County entering the watchlist will mean all cities in the county will have to enforce restrictions and possibly close dine-in restaurants, gyms, places of worship, and other indoor facilities.
Governor Gavin Newsom posted a tweet about the current death number saying,
Tragically, CA surpassed another somber milestone today: 197 deaths. Our highest reported in a single day.
