The city of Hayward, which established the nation’s very first free mobilized COVID-19 testing site, announced today (August 19) that they will be closing the testing site due to poor air quality. Yesterday (August 18) Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state wide emergency amid California’s heat wave and wildfires stating, ““We are deploying every resource available to keep communities safe as California battles fires across the state during these extreme conditions.”
