San Jose State football team appeared in the Arizona Bowl on December 31. Since then, they have confirmed 13 positive COVID-19 cases.
Senior Director of media relations at San Jose State, Kenneth Mashcinchi said,
Individuals that tested positive for COVID-19 or were deemed a close contact during testing in San Jose did not travel to Tucson.
On December 28, students were alerted that more than one person who tested positive visited the student dorms and the football athletic facilities. People who tested positive are currently in Tucson isolating or in quarantine.
