If you're feeing under the weather, taking an at-home COVID test may help you feel at ease during the pandemic.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, pharmacists want to remind you to check the expiration date before you buy or take an at-home COVID test. For an accurate result, it is important these tests are taken correctly and that includes making sure the chemicals are still up-to-date and haven't broken down over time.
Dr. Richard Dang, an assistant professor at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and president of the California Pharmacists Association, says if your test is expired, "I wouldn’t use it or trust any results from it unless a study is done to show the results were going to be valid."
