Today's generation of army recruits from ages 18 to 25 is having a difficult time transitioning into military life. An article by the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service said,
Today's recruits are coming from a far more sedentary lifestyle compared to previous generations, making their skeletons more prone to injuries because they're not used to the kind of intense activity they will face at basic training.
Army Capt. Lydia Blondin said a lot of the recruits' injuries range from acute fractures to muscle strains due to overuse. They recommend people who want to join to start basic training and exercising.
