"Inflation Relief Payment" are scheduled to be released starting Friday, October 7th! In a tweet, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that gas prices are getting high and payments are getting ready to launch tomorrow, making this the "largest state tax rebate in the country."

Get ready for "Inflation Relief" Payments, also known as the Middle Tax Refund!
According to the Franchise Tax Board, the first group of recipients are those who received their Golden State Stimulus via direct deposit. Payments are scheduled to be sent out between October 7 through October 25. The remaining direct deposits, those who filed their 2020 taxes and received a direct deposit but didn't qualify for the Golden State Stimulus, are scheduled to be sent out between October 28 and November 14.
Eligible recipients who did not sign up for direct deposit, but received a debit card for their Golden State Stimulus, will receive a debit card in the mail some time between October 25 and December 10. The remaining debit card recipients will receive theirs by January 15, 2023 (with a more detailed scheduled to be announced).
