SFGATE put together a list of fun events happening around the San Francisco Bay Area to help get you in the spirit for Halloween!
Here are a few suggestions for this year's spooky season:
- Take a tour of the city of the dead aka Colma: 17 cemeteries take up 73% of this small town with over 1.5 million people buried underground.
- Journey inside the Sutro Baths tunnel: If you find yourself visiting the ruins of San Francisco's Sutro Bath house, take a short walk over the the tunnel nearby. Many ghost sightings have been reported in this area and some even say something pretty frightening can happen if you venture inside at night with a candle...
- Look for the white lady at Stow Lake: Her child allegedly drowned in the lake over 100 years ago and the woman is often heard crying or seen on foggy nights asking visitors if they've seen her baby.
- Check out Mayhem Mansion: The famed Haas-Lilienthal House has transformed into Mayhem Mansion and is now welcoming brave guests to venture inside. Get more information here.
- Meet the ghost girl at the Chapel: This funeral home turned music venue seems to be home to a little girl whose presence is unexplained. There has also been some spooky reports of floating beer cans and creepy shadows lingering in the bathrooms.
