San Francisco is getting ready for a busy holiday season!
Last year, Union Square was hit hard by thieves and the city is hoping to change that this year. According to NBC Bay Area, "Police presence will be increased at Union Square where police will double patrols in and around the shopping hub, and more street ambassadors will join them by patrolling parking structures, too."
At least 11 stores were victims of mass theft last year, including higher-end brands like Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Bloomingdales.
Mayor London Breed and other city officials hope the increased security will bring back more holiday shoppers in the coming weeks.
