Get ready for the much-anticipated Fremont 4th of July Parade in Downtown Fremont! Taking place on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Fremont Police Department released this info on http://nixle.us/EJ3YM to help you plan ahead for temporary road closures, increased traffic, parking restrictions, and safety guidelines.
Road Closures: To facilitate a smooth and safe parade experience, road closures will begin on July 4 at approximately 6:00 a.m. and are expected to last until 2:00 p.m. The affected roads include:
Paseo Padre Parkway: Full closure in both directions between Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard.
Stevenson Boulevard: Closed between Civic Center Drive and Paseo Padre Parkway.
Capitol Avenue: Closure between State Street and Paseo Padre Parkway.
Hastings Street: Closed between Capitol Avenue and Mowry Avenue.
Walnut Avenue: Closure between Liberty Street and Civic Center Drive.
Liberty Street: Closed between Beacon Avenue and Capitol Avenue.
The Fremont Main Library parking lot will not be available for public parking on the day of the parade. This area will be used as a staging area for parade floats. To ensure a hassle-free experience, consider using alternative parking options nearby.
The Fremont Police Department has issued a few important reminders for parade attendees to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment:
1. Prohibited Items: Backpacks and large bags are not allowed within the parade area. All bags are subject to search. Please refrain from bringing these items to the event.
2. UAV (Drone) Restrictions: For safety reasons, flying drones over the parade route or within the event venue is strictly prohibited. Only authorized parade participants with credentials are allowed in the staging area and parade route.
