4th of July Planning: San Francisco Waterfront

San Francisco's annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration is back for 2023, promising a dazzling display along the city's picturesque waterfront. The show, scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m., will feature fireworks launched from barges near Pier 39 and Aquatic Park.

Parking reminder! (we don't want you to get a ticket!) Parking meters (all meters including color-capped and Pay or Permit), white zones, nightly street sweeping (street cleaning 12am-6am) will be enforced.

Safety violations (no stopping, no parking, red and blue zones) will be enforced.

Try BART or CalTrain for an easy way to get to the city and back home when the fireworks are done.

Lots of great viewing spots, everyone has a favorite! Head to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Aquatic Park, the Cannery, Ghirardelli Square, Coit Tower, or Angel Island. These locations offer prime vantage points. https://www.fishermanswharf.org/events/annual-events/4th-of-july/

San Francisco's weather can be unpredictable, especially during the summer. Be prepared for potentially cold and windy conditions, as fog is not uncommon. Layered clothing and blankets will help keep you warm and comfortable throughout the show.

As much as you may be tempted to bring your own fireworks, l for the safety of all, leave the pyrotechnics to the professionals.
