Nina Nesbitt started singing when she was very young and sang along to vocalists like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and more since before she could remember. By the time she was 10 years old, she was playing the piano and writing her own music.
"Strong females that write their own music have really inspired me with my own writing."
She shares that 90's pop was a big influence on her music and is inspired by other artists like Max Martin, Alanis Morissette, Stevie Nicks, and Joni Mitchell. She also adds that she is definitely a #Swiftie and is obsessed with Taylor Swift!
After performing at small pubs around Scotland, Nina Nesbitt's first real performance was at 17 when an artist heard her cover of their song on Youtube. She sang in front of thousands of ravers and the rest was history!
"It was the most terrifying thing I have ever done, but I think it's good to get out of your comfort zone and that's kind of how you grow, so it's good."
She also adds that she would love to collaborate with the Bay's own G-Eazy and goes in depth on how much she admires Calvin Harris' sound and evolution as an artist.
