Mansionz is the new collaboration project between Mike Posner and Blackbear. Years before his stripped-down hit single I Took A Pill in Ibiza (and its massive remix by SeeB), Posner broke onto the scene with Cooler Than Me. More little-known was his series of songs and mixtapes with a hip-hip and R&B vibe, which have stylistic similarities to fellow writer, producer, rap artist Blackbear. They each have a long history of writing and producing huge hits for other artists as well, such as Justin Bieber's 2012 song Boyfriend. Blackbear has also written or produced songs for G-Eazy, Nick Jonas, Hoodie Allen, and Gnash.
Their debut song STFU is light on the instrumentals, with just a simplistic guitar and drum backing track, but puts Mike and Blackbear's rapping and singing skills in the spotlight.
