Two San Francisco Trails Ban Dogs Due To Coyote Pupping Season

It's that time of the year! Two San Francisco Presidio trails, the Park Trail and Bay Area Ridge Trail, have banned dogs until the Fall due to coyote pupping season.

All trails remain open to people, but are to remain dog free until the pupping season ends. People who encounter coyotes with their dogs are urged to do the following:

  • Walk, do not run
  • Quickly leave the area
  • If you are followed, throw objects (to scare, not harm)
  • Always be aware of your surroundings
