In February, Gavin Newsom announced that qualifying Californian's would receive a $600 payment called the 'Golden State Stimulus.'
According to the Federal Tax Board (FTB), to qualify you must:
- Have filed your 2020 taxes
- Be either a CalEITC recipient or an ITIN filer who made $75,000 or less (total CA AGI)
- Live in California for more than half of the 2020 tax year
- Be a California resident on the date payment is issued
- Not be eligible to be claimed as a dependent
No action is needed if you qualify to receive payment.
Payments are dependent on when you file your 2020 tax returns.
- Taxes filed between January 1st and March 1st:
- Payments begin April 15th
- Taxes filed between March 2nd and April 23rd:
- Payments begin May 1st
- Taxes filed after April 23rd:
- Payments begin 45 days after your return has been processed
