Bacon Prices May Increase & Be Harder To Find In The Bay Area Next Year

California will soon be enforcing a new welfare proposition that drastically changes the the pork industry and more.

According to Business Insider, "The Farm Animal Confinement Proposition requires more space for breeding pigs, egg-laying chickens, and veal calves." This proposition was originally approved in 2018 and will go into effect in 2022.

This will also affect the bacon supply. The Associated Press reports that bacon prices could increase by as much as 60%.
