The city of San Francisco and Mayor London Breed are getting ready for their 15th annual turkey giveaway. The Mayor's office will be working with the San Francisco Housing Authority and the San Francisco Human Service Agency to distribute more than 5,500 turkeys and food baskets to more than 85 sites across the city.
Mayor Lonon Breed said in a statement,
With one in four San Franciscans at risk of food insecurity, we know that our communities greatly depend on programs like this to help make ends meet, especially during the holiday season. I am grateful to all of the City Departments and community partners that work hard to help all San Franciscans, especially our families, seniors, and vulnerable communities, put food on the table and, more importantly, find hope and joy during the holidays.
